Dr. Rick Carter is a native of Alabama, born to Kirby and Gladys, the youngest of four children. Dr. Carter was saved March 14, 1965. After graduating from high school, he attended Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO, where he graduated with a degree in Theology in 1971.
Dr. Carter furthered his education at Freedom University, Orlando, FL, earning a bachelor and masters degree in Christian Education. He then enrolled at Faith Baptist Bible College, Knoxville, TN, where he earned a PhD degree. He also holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO.
Dr. Carter started his fulltime ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, Melbourne, FL, where he served as the youth and children’s ministry pastor. In 1973 he started New Testament Baptist Church, Pascagoula, MS, and pastored there for 4 ½ years. He was then called as the pastor of Bible Baptist Church, Gulfport, MS, 1977, where he served 30 years.
Sensing God’s moving, he worked as the Executive Vice-President of Baptist Bible College for four years and returned to the pastorate in 2002 – 2012 at Canyon Creek Baptist Church, Richardson, TX.
Currently Dr. Carter is serving as staff evangelist of McCauley Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX, Pastor Scott Quidley, and travels extensively doing revivals, mission conferences, stewardship and capital fund-raising campaigns for churches.
He is married to Shannon (Thomas) Carter. They have three children and ten grandchildren.
