Rev. Tony and Rachel Cardenas
Anthony Cardenas was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 17, 1948. He married Rachel Ramirez on November 30, 1968 and they have two daughters, Beverly Diane Cardenas and Georgeann Carrasco. Bro. Tony and Rachel have 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchidren.
Anthony joined the Army National Guard, and later the U.S. Army Reserve. In 1983 he went on active duty with the reserve and moved to Houston, Texas. Anthony trusted the Lord as his Savior in the fall of 1985 at Central Baptist Church in Houston Texas. Subsequently, he faithfully served as a Deacon, Usher and Sunday School teacher in the churches he and his family attended.
Anthony and Rachel returned to San Antonio in July 2001, where he retired from the military after 34 years of service in July of 2003. In August 2003, Anthony surrendered to serve the Lord as assistant pastor of McCauley Baptist Church, where he has served since that time. Bro. Tony retired from full-time ministry in July of 2012, but still serves as assistant pastor and teaches the Faithbuilder's Adult Bible Class.
